Elizabeth E. Powers is a solo intellectual property attorney practicing in Carmel, CA, at Powers Law Firm.  She has over 25 years of experience with trademarks, patents, and licensing/transactions, and has worked extensively with start-up technology companies in formulating IP strategies, obtaining IP rights, licensing such rights, and providing due diligence.

Ms. Powers is a published author in IP strategy, and taught IP strategy courses at Santa Clara University School of Law.  She was a Professor of Practice at the Leavey School of Business, where she taught IP and business law courses to MBA, MA, and undergraduate students. She frequently lectures on IP and U.S. law matters both domestically and internationally.

Ms. Powers’ work experience ranges from boutique IP firms, to mid-range business law firms, to large multi-national law firms, as well as in-house counsel at Bayer Corp. and general counsel at a start-up technology company. She is an angel investor with Keiretsu Forum, and is the owner of Wise Iris, which provides public speaking coaching and business communications services to companies and individuals, specializing in start-up company investment pitches and international companies seeking U.S. funding.

Ms. Powers received her B.S., JD/MBA, and M.A. from Santa Clara University, and has an LL.M. in international law practice.

Powers Law Firm recently opened its new office in Carmel, CA, with the launch of its updated website. After working at Silicon Valley Law Group, attorney Elizabeth E. Powers is picking up where she left off three years ago as a solo practitioner.
